T & L Excavation, Inc. is a family-owned company that started back in 2002. Even though we’re a small team, we take a lot of pride in being flexible and easy to work with. We understand that every customer has their own budget and needs, so we always try our best to build a plan that works for you.

Since the very beginning, we’ve focused on reliability, solid craftsmanship, and really just doing the job right the first time. Whether your shoreline project is big or small, our experience lets us handle it safely, efficiently, and with respect for your property.

Rockin’ Your Shoreline Since 1995

With over 24 years of shoreline experience, shoreline reconstruction and preservation have become our main specialty. Most excavation companies can’t even reach many waterfront areas, but that’s where we’re different.

T & L Excavation uses two barges to haul rock and materials straight to the shoreline work area. This means we can finish the job without tearing up your yard or driving heavy machinery across your property. It saves time, money, and a lot of wear and tear.

Todd & Lynn Dolata

T & L Excavation is owned and operated by Todd and Lynn Dolata, who built the business on straightforward values like honesty, hard work, and treating customers the way they’d want to be treated. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has helped the company grow every year, with many customers returning again for future projects.

Experience & Leadership: Todd Dolata, Owner/Operator

Todd Dolata began his excavation career as a teenager in 1985 working for his family’s septic and excavation business. That early experience let him learn how to operate backhoes, graders, excavators, and other heavy equipment.

In 1991, he began working on the road for Cape Construction in Racine, WI. Over the next 12 years, Todd worked as a:

• Backhoe operator
• Dozer operator
• Finish grader
• Heavy highway worker

He even helped build runways at General Mitchell Field Airport. Later on, he became a foreman where he gained a ton of shoreline restoration experience, including breakwater work at Bender Park on Lake Michigan.

By 1998, Todd moved up to Superintendent for Cape Construction, where he oversaw major projects like airport runways, river restoration jobs, removing concrete spillways, and placing natural rock and boulders along waterways.

Over the years, Todd has worked with many groups and organizations, including:

• City of Racine
